MusicFest T-Shirts and Hoodies are here!
Here it is Folks – this year’s Poster/T-Shirt Image for MusicFest 2020, ‘the Missing Year’ created by a fabulous local Artist: Laura Jayne Furness.
Laura is a certified “Art Specialist” originally from Kelowna, BC. She attended Shawnigan Lake Private School on Vancouver Island for her high school years. This was where she really decided to make teaching art her career of choice. From Private School she carried onto Camosun College where she graduated from the “Visual Arts” program with a diploma. From there she transferred into third year at The University of Victoria for the “Art Education” program earning her Bachelor of Education Degree, certifying her to teach art at a senior high level.
From University Laura married and started a family of her own and now has two beautiful children. Although she enjoys being a wife and mother, her love for art never wavered. She has been painting and drawing since she was very young and has now sold hundreds of original works. Laura puts great care, detail and a “piece of her heart” into each creation.
Since returning to Vancouver Island after being in Grande Prairie, Alberta for 7 years Laura has been inspired by the absolute beauty of the Comox Valley and it’s very evident in her recent art works.
The MusicFest team was drawn to Laura’s work and asked if she would consider creating the image for the 2020 poster. Her answer was a resounding “yes” and work on refining the image began. The result is a stunning image officially titled “West Coast Wolf Howl.”
