Sunny skies and incredible music lie just ahead for music lovers in the final countdown to this weekend’s Vancouver Island MusicFest 2009. This very moment thousands of music loving souls are descending on thebeautiful Comox Valley for a three day celebration of diversity, community and fantastic music!

Musicians in paradise… Come play along the banks of the Tsolum River and soak in the world class sounds of Arlo Guthrie, Jane Bunnett, Los Lobos, Steven Page, Etana and the Legendary Abyssinians, Jerry Douglas, Edgar Meyer, Russ Barenberg, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, Enter the Haggis, The Del McCoury Band, Eric Bibb, Jim Byrnes, Jennifer Warnes and many many more. Tickets… Weekend passes for 3 days of musical magic or individual day passes are on sale now at the Sid Williams Theatre or at the gate. The festivities kick off at 4:30 on Friday July 10th and the music carries on all weekend long.

Camping… On-Site Camping opens at 10 am Thursday and camping spots are first come first serve. For alternate camping, with a slightly quieter atmosphere, please check out our friends at Puntledge RV and Campground, located a short drive from the festival site.

What to bring? Prepare for sun! Remember a nice woolly sweater for those cool riverside nights, a low-rider lawn chair, water bottle, a pocket full of pennies and heart filled with love.

What to leave at home? Your furry friends and glass containers. Easy!
