Park & Ride
The Destiny River Festival Express is a bus shuttle that runs all weekend long (July 7-10) in a perpetual loop from
1) North Island College on Ryan Rd (look for the signs in the parking lot) to
2) Driftwood Mall (next to Zellers/Target) to
3) Old House Village Suites
and back to the Festival Site.
The shuttle is a great way to avoid parking challenges at the site and ensure a smooth (and fun!) trip to and from the festival.
This shuttle service is only $2 per person per trip and kids under 12 are free. Please note the bus is not wheelchair or stroller accessible but you are totally welcome to bring extra festival gear (folded buggies, knapsacks, chairs etc etc) that take up extra space. You can park for FREE at Driftwood Mall (29th and Cliff in the lot besides Zellers) in Courtenay or North Island College on Ryan Road and take the $2 ride with us.
The Drop Off and Pick Up Location at the Festival Site is the bus loop in front of the Farmer Market Site on Headquarters Road. (Note, too, that there are designated accessible drop-off zones at the festival gate for wheelchair, scooter and other mobility equipment.)
The Festival Express is also the perfect way for folks to get to and from the Comox Valley Farmers Market. Save the parking woes and hop of the bus! All are welcome to use this service, even if you’re not going to the festival. Just drop your toonie in the slot and enjoy the ride. The General Public is totally welcome to use this service to access the Comox Valley Farmers Market on Saturday July 8th between 9 and noon!
There will be 2 buses running in the evenings to be sure we meet demand and don’t leave people waiting. Here’s the schedule:
Thursday July 7th:
Destiny River Festival Express travels the 3 stop route starting at North Island College at 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and then from 10:00 PM to 1:00 AM
Friday July 8th:
Destiny River Festival Express travels the 3 stop route starting at North Island College at 3 PM (Festival Gates Open at 4:00 PM)
Festival Express runs continually from 3:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
Saturday July 9th
Destiny River Festival Express travels the 3 stop route starting at North Island College at 8:30 AM (Festival Gates Open at 9 AM)
Festival Express Runs continually from 8:30 AM to 2:00 AM
All are welcome to use the Festival Express to Access the Farmers Market!
Sunday July 10th
Destiny River Festival Express travels the 3 stop route with starting at North Island College at 8:30 AM.
Festival Express Runs Continually from 8:30 AM to 1:00 AM
(if there is a line up at 1 AM they will return to ensure all get back to their vehicle)
