Festival Access

Vancouver Island MusicFest family has initiated an important festival and community building project to address accessibility issues at the festival.

This is an exciting undertaking that we hope will ensure that our festival continues to welcome a diverse audience and considers and integrates the unique needs of our volunteers and patrons into all our operations.

From new wheelchair access routes to shade areas and from refined ticket sales processes to changes in our parking program – we look forward to streamlining many aspects of our festival to ensure our diverse festival family can enjoy an amazing weekend.

Audience members with accessibility challenges who require a care attendant on site are invited to take part in our new “Access Program”. Care attendants (1 per person) will be admitted free of charge at the main festival gate the weekend of the festival.

This means that Access Program participants can now buy their Weekend Passes before the festival and participate in our Early Bird ticket deadlines.

If you require multiple care providers we are happy to work with you through an alternative check in process to ensure smooth access to the festival. Please call us for further information.

ACCESS 2 Entertainment Program

Vancouver Island MusicFest is pleased to announce that we have now joined the ACCESS 2 Entertainment Program.

Launched in December, 2004, the Access 2 Entertainment program seeks to help businesses provide quality customer service to customers with disabilities. Through the program, people with disabilities who require a support person carry a personal Access 2 Entertainment card with them. The card indicates to the ticket seller that the individual does indeed require the support of an attendant.

The card provides free admission (or a substantial discount) for the support person at all participating entertainment venues. The person with the disability pays the regular admission fee.
