Volunteer Responsibilities:
MusicFest has become an annual event much anticipated by the general public.
Its success is due in large part of the contributions and efforts made by
volunteers. It is important therefore, that volunteers have a clear understanding
of their responsibilities as listed below.
-
Contribute 16 hours of service before, during and after the event.
-
Be 19 years or older. If you are 16-18 you can volunteer with parental or
guardian permission and acceptance of the terms and conditions set out
below. Persons under 16 can volunteer if they are working with their
parents/guardian. Acceptance of volunteers is the discretion of
MUSICFEST.
-
Fulfill all responsibilities of crew membership including attending meetings
and completing minimum time requirements and shift commitments. Attend
all crew meetings - if you must miss a meeting, find out what was discussed
and arrange to get copies of any information that was distributed.
-
Make arrangements for the care of your children while you are on duty.
-
Be a quality representative of MUSICFEST and the Comox Valley. Be
respectful, friendly, thoughtful, helpful and honest with the public, the
performers and fellow volunteers. You will be a member of a great team and
will be expected to be a team player. Volunteers are required to represent
MusicFest to the public in a positive light and not do or say anything that
would intentionally harm or embarrass the festival.
-
Not consume alcohol or contraband substances before or during a shift
and not consume alcohol while wearing his or her volunteer ID. All alcohol
must be consumed in designated areas (beer gardens or private
campsites). Volunteers under the age of 19 will refrain from ANY use of
alcohol at MUSICFEST. Failure to do so will result in all volunteer
privileges being forfeited.
-
Inform yourself about the Festival, the site and our policies.
-
Every volunteer will agree to a waiver of liability, which is set out below.
-
Treat volunteers, performers, staff and the public with respect & courtesy. If
problems arise, defer to the Crew Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator or
Production Manager.
-
No volunteer shall use for his/her own advantage any property or monies
belonging to MusicFest. All volunteers must be honest and trustworthy.
