IT'S EASY TO GET HERE FROM THERE!
Arriving by Ferry:
To get to Vancouver Island Musicfest, you need to get to Courtenay
on Vancouver Island first, about 210km/130 miles north of Victoria.
Most
people arrive by car via ferry; BC Ferries runs the world’s
largest ferry fleet serving the islands of the coast. Take the
Tsawwassen – Nanaimo run if you are traveling
from south of Vancouver or the Horseshoe Bay – Nanaimo
run if you are traveling west on Trans Canada Route 1 from North
Vancouver. Black Ball Ferries also run the MV Coho from Port
Angeles in Washington State into downtown Victoria.
Travelers from the USA can also come from Anacortes and the San
Juan Islands, or take passenger only boats from Seattle or Pt.
Angeles. From Victoria, head north on the island Highway.
Coming from the Sunshine Coast and Powell River, take the Comox
Ferry, and if you are traveling from the far north you can access
the Island at Port Hardy and head south to Courtenay.
Getting to Courtenay and the Comox Valley
When
you get off the ferry from Vancouver, head north. The new Inland
Island Highway (Route 19) gets you from Nanaimo to Courtenay in
a little over an hour, or take the old ‘Oceanside Route’ (Route
19A) north of Nanaimo if you like to meander. Take the Courtenay
exit, and head through town (along Cliffe Ave.) and follow the
signage to "MusicFest" at the Comox Valley
Exhibition Grounds on Headquarter's Road. Our sign crew will be
plastering the whole Comox Valley with directional's, so just follow
the signs north.
Once in Courtenay
If you are coming from the south and follow the old highway around
the bypass (by Superstore) just keep going straight - don't turn
towards Campbell River when you pass Canadian Tire, just go straight
through the intersection - you're now on Headquarters Rd. A few
moments and you're there! It's that easy! From Campbell River and
points north, watch for the turn-off from the old Island Highway
(an easy right on Vanier Drive) just before the Chrysler Dealership.
If you miss the turn, turn right at the traffic lights at the bottom
of the big hill by the Shell station.
